Troubleshooting
Installation checklist
- Settings > Bynder shows the license as valid and shows the portal domain.
- A Bynder picker opens, asks you to log in to Bynder, and shows your assets.
- A picked asset appears on the published page.
- (If enabled) The test buttons for Asset Tracking and Meta Data Sync under Settings > Bynder > Configuration succeed.
Logs
Go to Settings > Log Viewer > Saved searches > "Find all Bynder log entries". The connector logs through Umbraco's own logging:
- Warning - a Bynder API call failed, for example because of missing or wrong OAuth credentials.
- Information - an administrator changed Bynder settings or ran a connection test, or a background sync changed something.
The OAuth client secret is never logged.
Common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause |
|---|---|
| The picker won't open, or the portal domain can't be edited | No valid license key. See Add your license key. |
| The picker opens but stays empty or keeps asking to log in | The portal domain is wrong (Connect your Bynder portal), or the editor doesn't have access in Bynder. |
| The picker doesn't load inside the backoffice at all | A Content Security Policy is blocking Bynder's widget. Allow https://ucv.bynder.com and your portal domain. |
| A document link sends visitors to a Bynder login page | The asset isn't marked Public in Bynder. |
| Asset Tracking or Meta Data Sync does nothing | The OAuth credentials are missing or wrong, the OAuth app is missing a scope, or the feature isn't ticked. See Optional Features. Check the Bynder log search. |
| The backoffice functionality stopped, but the website still works | The license key is no longer valid, for example because the trial or subscription ended. Check your subscription. |
